Story:
An ex-con sets out to avenge his brother's death after they were double-crossed during a heist years ago. During his campaign, however, he's tracked by a veteran cop and an egocentric hit man.


My Review:
So I've been working like a slave lately, no time off, no time to go out, no time to do anything fun and finally I decided I was going to TAKE some time for me. So, I took a sunday night, and I went to the mall, picked up couple of CDs that I just may review on here, who knows? and ate dinner at Moxies then saw FASTER for free with my scene card (woot!). So enough about me lol, let's talk FASTER.

Oh wow. Ok, where to start. There is no spoiler alert on this because I, well, it's a new movie and I dont want to give anything away! It's worth it believe me. There was high speed chase, subtle jokes that you don't see coming and when they hit, the whole theatre was cracking up.  Now let's see, pit a drug addicted cop, up against an unseen man afraid of death, am ex-cop out to get the bastards that slaughtered his brother up against a crazy assassin and you get trouble--always trouble!


I didn't like the fact that they didn't give Dwayne more lines but, those he did have, he delivered them.  Though he was the star, the part was written so he didn't have to say much. Everything he said was in his face, the way he carried his body, the looks in his eyes--people may think acting is just saying words, it's not. I was once told by a drama teacher that on stage, you have to sell everything with your body but on camera you have to sell everything with your face.  

I also didn't like that the writer didn't take time to name the characters. Dwayne's character was "Driver" Billy Bob's was "Cop" and the hitman was...you guess it! "Killer." I made sense but it was a little impersonal that way, you know?

The hitman in this movie, well what I can I say about him--he's nuts! He's sexy, drives nice cars, wealthy and out of his damn mind! I think his character was one of the best written. Just goes to show you, we can all do crazy.FASTER was full of twists and turns and morbid ironies that though sad made you laugh out loud. The camera angles were amazing and the cars---All I can say is hot damn those cars!! 


Anyways, the storyline was plausible and I went expecting not a piece of art but an action movie with shit blowing up and heads being blown away. But Mr. Johnson surprised the hell out of me. He managed to portray emotions with his body, face, ever move of his head and guess what????? He didn't do the eyebrow thing once!!!! It was awesome. So fellas, this movie is amazing because it has action, blood, guts, strippers...and ladies, it has the Rock...come on...


But in all seriousness, this movie will NOT be a waste of time to see. I thoroughly enjoyed and I didn't nod off once!! oh and when you see who the bad guy is....you're gonna be like "How the fuck did that happen!!
